Dear Mercer County Families - Thank you for the support you have shown to the Mercer County teachers and staff during the past few weeks.  Many of us have been traveling to Frankfort to talk to legislators.  Unfortunately, we still do not have answers from Frankfort and are waiting for a final budget.  I have had people ask for clarification on what public schools need from our legislatures in Frankfort, if our presence had made any difference, and do we need to continue to go to Frankfort.

We support you and appreciate you.  That was the message Whitaker Bank staff delivered this morning. Whitaker Bank surprised teachers and staff in the Mercer County School System this morning with a goody bag filled with donuts for each person. Malissa S. Thompson, Assistant Vice-President, Human Resources Manager and Marketing Representative, said, “We went there to show our appreciation but the hugs, thank you and smiles that we received today was so uplifting and positive.  Great way to start our day.”  Read More

KMS 8th Graders Get a Dose of Reality
8th graders at KMS recently got a good dose of reality. Youth Service Center Coordinator, Allison Hazelwood hosted the annual Reality Fair for 8th graders at King MIddle School and Burgin Middle. Members from the Mercer community volunteered their time to come in and help students to establish a career, family, and all the responsibilities that come with being an adult.   Read More

Mr. and Miss KY Basketball, Lady Titans and Titan Proud Students Recognized
The Mercer County Board of Education recently recognized Seygan Robins and Trevon Faulkner as well as the Lady Titans basketball team and March Titan Proud students. Robins and Faulkner were honored for earning Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball honors while the Lady Titans basketball team was recognized for their back-to-back state championship titles.    Read More
