Once again this year the Media Center will be featuring the 2017-18 Kentucky Bluegrass Award Books. The Kentucky Bluegrass Award is granted to a book selected by Kentucky students. A list of nominated books is compiled by a committee made up of librarians and university teacher educators. Students in the state of Kentucky read books from the list and fill out a ballot for the book rating it on a scale from Great to Bad. Ballots are sent in and tallied from schools across Kentucky. Once all ballots are counted the KBA committee announces the winner. The 2016-17 winner was Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard .
The MCSH Media Center is also promoting an additional incentive to read this year’s nominated books. Our students will receive a ballot to vote each time they read two KBA books. That means students could receive as many as five votes. In May there will a drawing to win fabulous prizes!
