Safety Alert

It has come to our attention that we have children who are participating in a modified version of the “Choking Challenge” that was on YouTube years ago.  In the latest version of this dangerous game, children will kneel down while holding their mouth and nose shut.  They will then jump up quickly causing a loss of consciousness. Coca-Cola Scholars Semi-finalist

 Congratulations to Georgia Turpin for being selected as a Coca-Cola Scholars semifinalists.  Georgia is one of 1,928 students across the nation selected from a pool of over 93,000 applicants for this prestigious honor.  She was selected based on her academic achievements, leadership, and service demonstrated in community activities.

Choir Students Spotlight

Michael Shearer Out of 1100 auditions for Kentucky Junior High Chorus, Mercer County High School student Michael Shearer was selected for the 2020 Mixed Choir as a tenor. He will join 500 students from the state of Kentucky to perform in Louisville at the beginning of February.
 
 
 Georgia TurpinGeorgia Turpin, a Mercer County High School senior, will perform in the Kentucky Music Educators Association's All-State Chorus in Louisville in February, 2020.   
Tickets for the 2020 All-State Chorus concert will go on sale starting December 15th. Parents and friends wishing to attend the concert must purchase tickets directly from the Kentucky Center Ticket Office.

Sophomore ACT Opportunity

Mercer County Senior High School is offering a free opportunity to take the ACT on Saturday, February 8th at Mercer County Senior High School. There are only two requirements: sign the Free ACT Contract (link below) and provide your own transportation on that Saturday.

MCSHS Earns 3-star Rating; 77th out of 228 in the State!

Mercer County Senior High School is proud to announce that we have been labeled a 3 STARhigh school that is ranked 77 th out of 228 high schools in the state. This puts MCSHS in the top1/3 of high schools in the state of Kentucky.
