Mercer County Elementary houses grades Preschool through 2nd. We have approximately 750 students. Our school day starts at 8:00 am and is over at 3:12 pm. Our students get instruction from the following areas: Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies. They also have the following Enrichment classes each week: Library, Science Lab, Art, Music, and P.E. Our students also get a chance to participate in the following afterschool programs: STLP (Student Technology Leadership Program), Healthy Zumba Kids, Recycling Team, and Energy Team.
MCES became a SACS accredited school in 2006. SACS stands for Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is an accreditation that requires that schools meet a set of high national standards. These standards reflect many of the qualities seen in high performing schools across the country.
