Business leaders push for Kentucky school improvement, tougher standards

"I just wanted to let you know that Zack came home and could not stop talking about the field trip in the gym with the organ donor. He was so excited to tell me all the things that he learned. I am so glad that the school was able to do this demonstration for such a great cause. I had a family member who donated some her organs when she passed. Hearing the stories was great to see how she was able to help. Glad that the students were able to experience that. Thank you."

KASA: 2013 Student Art Contest: World-Class Education

KASA is proud to announce its first Student Art Contest, calling for student-produced artwork that explores this year's theme: World Class Education. The contest asks students to use their creative skills to create a mural designed around the theme Giving Our Kids a World-Class Education.

First place winners will be invited to attend KASA's annual leadership institute July 18 or 19 and be recognized before a large audience, where they will be presented a $100 gift card and a distinctive medal. (First place prizes awarded to the following grade categories: K-2; 3-5; 6-8; and 9-12.)

Principals should submit the artwork to KASA before May 13. Please encourage your students to participate in the contest. We welcome any feedback that will help us improve this contest. Your support will help Kentucky students to think more closely about the impact a world class education can have on their school communities.
