KMS Students Build Rollercoasters in Hands-On Learning Experience

KMS Students Build Rollercoasters King Middle School students in Mrs. Penn’s Science class, recently completed a class project where students explored the most basic physical principles of roller coasters. They learn about the possibilities and limitations of roller coasters within the context of energy conservation, frictional losses and other physical principles.

Shown here are students using paper plates. masking tape, and marbles, to construct and test roller coasters with the principles learned in class.
