MCSH Students Participate in Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools Annual Event

MCSH Green Team Presents at Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools Event
Mercer County Senior High School received a grant from Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools (KGHS) to develop a “green team” and present at the Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools annual conference.

Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools is a project-based program that uses the entire school building and grounds as a learning laboratory for students.

In the KGHS program, students and staff work together to investigate baseline conditions, and then implement projects to improve the health, safety, and environmental sustainability of their schools.

Under the supervision of Dr. Elumalai, Mercer County Senior High students Destiny Hartman, Grayson Singleton, and Joseph Baker conducted an investigation on "The effects of a pesticide on the cytogenetics (DNA) of local minnows".
