PALS Make Mother’s Day Flower Pots

PALS Make Mother’s Day Flower Pots Students in the PALS program at Mercer County Senior High School and Mercer County Elementary School recently made Mother’s Day flower pots in the high school’s greenhouse.

PALS, (Partners in Active Learning Support), is a mentoring program involving selected high school students and selected elementary students.  The program's goals are to help younger students have a more positive and productive school experience.  The Mercer County Senior High School (MCSHS) students are part of the leadership team at the school and they partner up with first graders at Mercer County Elementary School (MCES).  The high school students are trained in building self-esteem, communicating, listening, decision making, and are positive role models for the elementary students.  The activities for the program are many and varied.  The group is under the supervision of MCSHS teacher, Mr. Mike Jones, and MCES Guidance Counselor, Stacy Charles.
