Mercer Board Recognizes FFA State Champs, Titan Proud Students
At their regular monthly meeting, the Mercer County Board of Education recognized the FFA Junior Dairy Judging team for winning the Junior Dairy Judging state competition as well as the month’s Titan Proud students. The Titan Proud students were recognized for their efforts in the classroom, leadership skills and attitude. 

MERCER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL  - Bryce Broderick, 2nd grade
MERCER INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL – Guylee Carrier, 4th grade
KING MIDDLE SCHOOL – Avery Robinson, 7th grade
MERCER COUNTY SENIOR HIGH – Lisa Patel, 12th grade

Mercer County Senior High School FFA members, Breanna Sullens, Carleigh Randsdell, Laney Bast and Amelia Ellis were recognized for winning the state Junior Dairy judging contest at the Kentucky State Fair.

The contest is open to all 9th graders in the state FFA association. The members judge 6 classes of cows and heifers. They are taught to evaluate structure, correctness, feminity, angularity, depth of body, flatness of bone, and mammary system on cows. In the mammary, they look at bloom, median suspensory ligament, fore and rear udder attachment, and correct teat size and placement.
