Students Build Custom Tables for Board of Education Meetings
Students in Mr. Durr’s Floor and Wall Framing class at the Hughes-Jones Harrodsburg Area Technology Center recently completed a special project for the Mercer County Board of Education meeting room.
Students built a raised floor and desk to fit into five areas of a dodecagon (12 sided polygon). They used Geometry to calculate areas and distances for the measurements to construct the raised floor. Once the measurements were established, students designed the tables to fit the area of the raised floor. Additionally, the students added the final touch by using a CNC router to etch the district’s logo in the center table.
