Congratulations to Maddie Angel, an 8th grader at King Middle School. Maddie is a finalist in the Gilda Club Write Stuff state contest. Judges scored more than 150 entries among high school and middle school entries. The finalists’ entries will now move on to the final round of judging for state awards.
The Write Stuff Teen Contest is open to students in grades 6-12 who have a cancer connection – their own diagnosis or that of a family member or friend. Students must be residents of Kentucky or Southern Indiana and may enter in one category only – essay, poetry, art or video. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category (1st - $500, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $125).
The winners will be announced in mid-December.
