Mercer County Elementary School provides preschool services for children age 3 with identified delays and age 4 with either identified delays or who meet income guidelines. A child who is a Mercer County resident may qualify for the program in one of four ways:
•Speech or Language Delays
•Delays in Personal Social Skills, Adaptive Skills, Gross and Fine Motor Skills, Receptive and Expressive Communication, and/or Cognitive Skills
•Other Health Impairments/Conditions
•Qualifications for Income Eligible (160% of the poverty guidelines)

Four year olds whose families meet the qualifications for income eligibility may qualify for our preschool program. Students with special needs (delays or disabilities) may only be admitted to the program upon approval of the Admissions and Release Committee (ARC). The (ARC) committee may request additional information and evaluation data before a final eligibility decision is made.
