Lynn Flach
Coach Lynn Flach grew up in central Illinois and started her love for volleyball in 1975 when at 5 years old, she got to be the water girl for her older sister's middle school team. She continued to be the water girl until she reached 5th grade when she was old enough to start playing on the middle school volleyball team. Once in high school, she started on the varsity team as an outside hitter from her freshman to senior year. Over those four years, they accumulated a record of 135 wins and 14 losses and made 3 trips to the state tournament. After high school, Coach Flach played her first two years at Lincoln College, a junior college located in Lincoln, IL. While there, she was selected for the first team all-region in her sophomore year. After Lincoln College, Coach Flach then transferred to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (which is a small Division I school) as a defensive specialist (this is the day before libero’s). During her senior year at UALR, her team set the school record for most digs, and that record still stands today, almost 30 years later.
Coach Flach has been involved in coaching at every level of the game from elementary, middle, high, and college in the states of Illinois and Kentucky. She has coached club ball and school ball along with coaching at many college camps over the summers. Currently, Coach Flach is in her 6th year of coaching volleyball at Mercer County Senior High School and at King Middle School.
Coach Flach and her husband, Brett, have three children (Taylor, Bryce, and Blain), one son-in-law (Eric), and one grandson (Brock). They reside on a farm in Mercer County and their family is active in showing cattle and pigs at the county, state, and national levels.
