Instructional Decision Declaration

Mercer County Families,

As we continue to prepare to re-open schools, we need to determine exactly how many students will be returning to in-person instruction versus attending the Online Academy. We realize this is an extremely difficult decision for families. A decision made even more difficult because we are asking you to commit to this decision for the first semester. However, this time is needed in order for us to implement our “Healthy at School Plan'' and will ensure consistency in the classroom through December. In December, we will have another opportunity for you to declare the type of instructional delivery your child receives for the 2nd semester of the year.

If you still have questions about which option is best for your student, please review the ‘Healthy at School Plan’, ‘Types of Learning Defined’ document, and the “Questions and Answers’ link all located on our webpage . There have also been two Facebook Live sessions related to these topics that are posted on the Mercer County School District Facebook page. To clarify, even if we are asked to have all students start school virtually, we still need this information now because the instructional delivery and requirements will vary between these two types of learning. The Types of Learning Defined document can help clarify these differences.

In the upcoming weeks, we will continue to work on the specific details related to each option and will continue to share this information with you.

We are asking that you complete this form before July 31st. Please click on Student Declaration to access this form. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 859-733-7000.
